St. Petersberg, Florida

Reason for Engagement

The Hypatia Collaborative is a shared-services nonprofit that strengthens the operational and strategic capacity of small and emerging organizations. By pooling resources and connecting nonprofits with trusted service providers, Hypatia helps its partners streamline administration, access professional expertise, and focus more deeply on their missions.

Many of the nonprofits within Hypatia’s network are delivering meaningful, mission-driven work while simultaneously navigating the demands of daily operations and growth. Organizational leaders are balancing multiple responsibilities as they looked to strengthen strategic frameworks, financial systems, and internal capacity. In response, Hypatia coordinates multiple consultants, including LM Genuine Solutions, to provide strategic planning support for a cohort of participating organizations—helping them build clearer structures and stronger foundations to support long-term sustainability and impact.

Through tailored facilitation and coaching, LMGS has helped each organization clarify its mission, define measurable goals, and create a roadmap for sustainable progress. The process strengthened alignment and focus, allowing leaders to direct their time and energy toward advancing their programs and community outcomes.

The participating organizations reflected the diversity and complexity of St. Petersberg’s nonprofit ecosystem:

Each organization entered the process at a different stage of maturity—some entirely volunteer-led, others in active growth phases—but all emerged with a clear, actionable framework to guide daily operations, strengthen fundraising efforts, and expand community impact. The collaboration showcases how Hypatia’s shared-services model, combined with LMGS’s strategic guidance, can transform capacity challenges into lasting organizational strength.

Our Approach

How We Made a Difference

LMGS employed a structured yet adaptive planning framework that emphasized clarity, alignment, and action. The process was designed to demystify strategic planning, making it approachable for leaders navigating limited resources or evolving governance structures.

LMGS worked closely with each organization’s leadership to ensure that the process was reflective, practical, and empowering, fostering a deeper understanding of strategy as a living management tool rather than a static document.

Core Elements of the Approach
  • Discovery and Alignment: Clarified each organization’s mission, vision, and core values to create a shared foundation for decision-making.
  • Strategic Focus: Identified high-impact strategic pillars that captured each organization’s priorities and unique strengths.
  • Implementation Roadmap: Outlined specific objectives, timelines, and responsibilities to translate strategic intent into daily practice.
  • Capacity Guidance: Provided direction on organizational development, governance roles, and sustainability planning.

Execution & Implementation

How We Got It Done

The engagement began in May 2025 following LMGS’s onboarding with The Hypatia Collaborative earlier in the year. Each nonprofit participated in a sequence of facilitated sessions designed to build alignment, surface priorities, and create a clear implementation roadmap.

Key Activities
  • Leadership interviews and discovery discussions
  • Development of mission, vision, and values statements
  • Identification of strategic pillars and measurable goals
  • Creation of implementation roadmaps with defined milestones
  • Delivery of tailored strategic plan documents and organizational guidance

The Final Product

Deliverables:

  • Strategic planning framework tailored to each organization
  • Final branded strategic plan document
  • Implementation roadmap with actionable milestones

Each nonprofit now has a clear, actionable roadmap that eliminates confusion and streamlines decision-making. With defined priorities and measurable goals, leaders can focus more of their time on what truly matters—advancing their mission and making a difference in the community. LMGS remains a trusted partner to Hypatia and its participating organizations, providing ongoing guidance as plans evolve and translate into real-world results.

This initiative marks the beginning of a growing partnership between LMGS and The Hypatia Collaborative, one rooted in shared commitment to building stronger, more resilient nonprofits.
